UAE Strengthens Global Defence Ties at FIDAE 2026 Expo

Santiago, Chile: Chilean President José Antonio Kast officially inaugurated the International Air, Space, Defence and Security Exhibition (FIDAE 2026) in Santiago, marking the beginning of Latin America’s largest aerospace and defence exhibition.

Held biennially at the Pudahuel Air Base, FIDAE brings together leading global players from the aviation, defence, and security sectors, serving as a key platform for international collaboration and technological advancement.

During his visit to the exhibition, President Kast toured several national pavilions, including that of EDGE Group. He praised the United Arab Emirates for its high-quality participation, highlighting the advanced technologies and innovative defence solutions showcased at the event.

UAE Ambassador to Chile, Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, described the country’s participation as a significant strategic milestone. He emphasised that it reflects the UAE’s vision to build strong international partnerships in advanced technology and innovation, aimed at enhancing global security systems.

Al Neyadi noted that EDGE Group’s debut in South America underscores the growing international confidence in the UAE’s defence capabilities. He added that the country is focused on developing integrated, future-ready solutions to address evolving global challenges efficiently.

Highlighting bilateral ties, the ambassador stated that relations between the UAE and Chile are gaining momentum. He pointed to expanding cooperation in economic, technical, and investment sectors, describing Chile as a key strategic partner in Latin America due to its open economy and strong innovation ecosystem.

He further stressed the importance of global collaboration, stating that knowledge exchange and technology transfer are essential to tackling modern challenges and achieving sustainable development.

Reaffirming the UAE’s commitment, Al Neyadi concluded that the country will continue to strengthen partnerships with Chile and other Latin American nations, supporting regional stability and long-term economic growth.
