Over the years, Bigg Boss has been known for its emotionally intense environment, where contestants often break down, seek exits, or face stress during tasks. However, the makers have confirmed that a strong mental health system is fully operational to safeguard participants’ well-being throughout the show.
Producer Rishi Negi shared that every contestant undergoes a detailed medical screening, including psychological evaluations, before being approved to participate. “There have been times when medical professionals advised against certain individuals entering the house, and we have respected that,” Negi said.
Once the show begins, the emotional responsibility towards contestants doesn't stop. Negi revealed that the production team has both a doctor and a psychiatrist available 24/7 to support participants during moments of distress.
“If someone has a breakdown, the psychiatrist is always on call,” he explained. “Whether a contestant continues or is pulled out of the house is a decision strictly made by medical experts, not by the channel, producers, or even the host.”
Negi emphasized the show’s reach across age groups and cultures, stating that content is carefully curated to balance entertainment with ethical responsibility. “You’re putting a bunch of people together and expecting all kinds of emotions,” he said. “But the goal isn’t to provoke conflict or exploit vulnerability — we’re mindful of how it impacts both housemates and viewers.”
