Comedian Bharti Singh, who announced her second pregnancy in October, became emotional after the team of her show Laughter Chefs surprised her with a baby shower in Mumbai on November 16. Bharti has been sharing updates about her pregnancy on YouTube and did not know anything about this plan. She said in an Instagram video that the team called her for work but instead surprised her with the celebration. In the video, Bharti said she got scared at first because so many people suddenly surrounded her, and she joked that some people might be upset for not being invited, even though she herself didn’t know about the event.
The venue was decorated with blue and pink balloons, and there was a cute board that said, “We can barely wait.” Bharti wore a blue outfit, and many guests wore pink, giving the event a fun, colourful theme. She was given a “mom-to-be” tiara and sash, and the group brought out a big cake that said, “I vote girl.” Videos online showed guests dancing to London Thumakda and taking photos with Bharti.
Many well-known TV actors attended the celebration, including Tejasswi Prakash, Arjun Bijlani, Jannat Zubair, Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina Bonnerjee, Krushna Abhishek, Kashmera Shah, Aly Goni, and Jasmin Bhasin. Jannat Zubair also posted photos from the event with the caption “Team baby girl,” matching Bharti’s own wish.
Bharti, who already has a three-year-old son, Laksh, has openly said she hopes for a baby girl this time. In one of her vlogs, she said she wants “Mata Rani” to come home and dreams of dressing her daughter in pretty lehengas and ponytails, inspired by the looks of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s daughter, Dua.
Bharti will soon be back hosting Laughter Chefs Season 3 along with Harpal Singh Sokhi. The new season will feature many celebrities, including Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee, Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra, Elvish Yadav, Isha Malviya, Abhishek Kumar, Samarth Jurel, and Krushna Abhishek with Kashmera Shah. The show will premiere on November 22 and will also be available to watch online.
