India's national carrier, Air India, has embarked on a significant milestone by introducing its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Delhi-Dubai route, marking the international debut of this recently acquired aircraft. The inaugural flight took off on Thursday, offering passengers the opportunity to experience Air India's new aircraft model.

Passengers traveling between Delhi and Dubai can now book tickets to enjoy the luxury and comfort of the A350 in its fresh livery. The service commenced on May 1, making Air India the exclusive operator of the A350 aircraft on routes between India and Dubai. To celebrate this momentous occasion, pre-departure ceremonies were held at both Delhi and Dubai airports, where passengers received special A350 memorabilia.

Under the ownership of Tata Group since 2022, Air India has significantly expanded its operations. Currently, the airline operates a total of 72 weekly flights to Dubai from five major Indian cities, with Delhi serving as a hub for 32 of these flights.

Last year, Air India solidified its commitment to modernizing its fleet by finalizing orders for 250 Airbus aircraft and 220 Boeing jets, valued at $70 billion at list prices. Tata's substantial investments have aimed to revitalize Air India's fleet, enhance its services, and extend its domestic and international reach to recapture lost market share.

The Airbus A350-900, a long-range aircraft, boasts a spacious cabin accommodating between 300 to 350 passengers across three classes. In Air India's configuration, the A350 includes 28 private suites with full-flat beds in Business Class, 24 seats in a dedicated Premium Economy cabin offering additional legroom and amenities, and 264 seats in Economy Class.

Passengers aboard the A350 can enjoy the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system with high-definition screens, providing access to over 2,200 hours of entertainment content.

Earlier this year, Air India initiated the induction of A350 aircraft into its fleet, conducting flights within India for crew training and regulatory compliance. The introduction of the A350 on the Delhi-Dubai route underscores Air India's commitment to offering passengers a superior travel experience with modern and efficient aircraft.
