Abu Dhabi has taken a groundbreaking step in healthcare innovation with the launch of the Population Health Intelligence (PHI) platform, unveiled at GITEX Global 2025. Developed in partnership with Microsoft, the platform is the first of its kind globally, offering AI-driven health management on an emirate-wide scale.
The PHI platform integrates data from clinical records, lifestyle patterns, and environmental factors into a unified digital twin of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem. This digital twin provides a real-time view of population health, helping experts spot emerging risks, predict trends, and plan interventions effectively.
At its core, PHI operates through two main pillars: Predict for data-driven insights, and Prevent & Act for targeted interventions. By continuously learning from new data, the system supports smarter decision-making, optimises healthcare resources, and enhances early intervention strategies. Initial focus areas include obesity and cancer, with AI guiding early prevention programs and reducing disease burdens.

PHI also leverages geospatial simulations and advanced analytics to forecast potential health scenarios, enabling the government to take proactive steps that could extend healthy life expectancy across the emirate. By connecting predictive insights with actionable interventions, Abu Dhabi is setting a new standard in preventive healthcare.
The launch strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for health innovation, showcasing how AI and digital solutions can drive measurable improvements in population health. Visitors at GITEX Global 2025 have the opportunity to experience the platform firsthand and explore the ways technology is reshaping healthcare delivery.
