The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan is based on six important goals. First, it wants to make Abu Dhabi the best place for trade by improving the customer experience, so businesses will choose Abu Dhabi for their trade needs. Second, it aims to increase revenue and support the growth of the economy by making customs services more efficient. Third, the plan wants to improve security by ensuring businesses follow the rules and manage risks better. Fourth, Abu Dhabi Customs wants to create a culture of excellence by encouraging innovation and sustainability. Fifth, it plans to build a strong team by developing skilled employees who can meet the challenges of the future. Finally, the plan focuses on using technology, such as AI and machine learning, to make customs services even better and more digital.
Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, the Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, said that the plan will continue to support sustainable development and help Abu Dhabi Customs become a leader in the customs world. He mentioned that the use of advanced technologies, like blockchain and AI, will help improve operations and services for customers.
One of the key parts of the plan is to create a system that will make customs procedures more efficient. This will help speed up the process of clearing goods through customs. Abu Dhabi Customs also wants to build strong partnerships with other countries and businesses to help make trade easier and safer.
The strategic plan also includes 28 special projects to help improve how customs works. Some of the expected results include faster clearance of goods, reducing the time it takes for goods to pass through customs, and making sure that all customs procedures follow international rules and agreements.
Al Mansoori also mentioned that data analysis will be used to gather useful information that will improve customs services and help businesses. With all of these plans in place, Abu Dhabi Customs is setting the stage to improve trade and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global leader in customs. The 2024-2028 plan is an important step in making Abu Dhabi Customs a modern, efficient, and sustainable service that will continue to grow and adapt in the coming years.
