Three Israeli soldiers were killed on Wednesday during intensified military operations in the northern Gaza Strip, where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are ramping up their air and ground assaults, particularly in the city of Jabaliya. The fallen soldiers have been identified as Major Nathaniel Hershkowitz, 37, Major Zvi Mattiyo Marantz, 32, and Major Uri Moshe Bornstein, also 32. Their funerals are scheduled for Friday at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery in Jerusalem.

The IDF has significantly escalated its offensive in the northern region of Gaza, surrounding Jabaliya and nearby neighborhoods since Sunday. The military's primary objective is to dismantle the operational capabilities that Hamas is reportedly attempting to re-establish in the area. As part of this strategy, the IDF has urged residents to evacuate to southern Gaza to minimize civilian casualties and has declared its intent to impose a complete siege on Jabaliya until Hamas fighters surrender.

IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee called for residents of northern towns, including Beit Hanoun, Jabaliya, and Beit Lahia, to leave their homes as the military continues its offensive. According to the IDF, the operation has resulted in the elimination of at least 20 Hamas operatives.

In recent days, Gaza's civil defense agency reported extensive airstrikes across the northern region, which have led to numerous casualties among residents. Hamas, for its part, has claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli soldiers and tanks in response to the ongoing military operations.

As hostilities continue, Gaza's health ministry has made an urgent appeal to the international community for fuel supplies, highlighting the critical need for resources to enable hospitals to maintain operations and provide essential services amid the escalating conflict. The situation remains tense as both sides engage in a fierce exchange of fire, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
