The 16th edition of the GLOBE SOCCER Awards has unveiled its grand finalists following the participation of over 30 million football enthusiasts from around the globe. Their votes played a crucial role in identifying this year's top contenders, reflecting the immense excitement surrounding the awards.
The winners will be disclosed at a prestigious invitation-only gala on Sunday, 28 December 2025. Hosted at the opulent Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai, this event is set to draw some of football’s most renowned personalities. The evening will unite star athletes, club officials, iconic legends, and promising talent who are defining the future of football.
During two public voting rounds, fans chose their favorites across nine categories: Best Men’s Player, Best Women’s Player, Best Men’s Club, Best Women’s Club, Best Coach, Best Midfielder, Best Forward, Emerging Player, and Best Middle East Player. The ceremony will also feature additional accolades such as Best Agent, Best Sporting Director, the Maradona Award, along with various special and lifetime honors.
Paris Saint-Germain, champions of the UEFA Champions League, has a prominent presence among the finalists. They are contesting for Best Men’s Club alongside rivals Barcelona, Chelsea, Flamengo, and Liverpool. PSG's coach, Luis Enrique, is nominated for Best Coach, facing off against Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid, Mikel Arteta from Arsenal, Hansi Flick from Barcelona, and Enzo Maresca from Chelsea. Among the finalists for Best Men’s Player from PSG are Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha, going head-to-head with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, Barcelona’s Raphinha, and young sensation Lamine Yamal.
Over in women’s football, Aitana Bonmatí of Barcelona Femení and the Spanish national team eyes a third consecutive win for Best Women’s Player, competing against Mariona Caldentey, Melchie Dumornay, Alexia Putellas, and Alessia Russo. The race for Best Women’s Club includes strong teams like Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea FC, and Juventus, showcasing the fierce competition in women's football.
Highlighting the glamour of the evening, Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed his attendance. The forward from Al Nassr and Portugal is also nominated for Best Middle East Player, standing alongside Salem Al-Dawsari, Karim Benzema, and Riyad Mahrez, illustrating the burgeoning talent in the region.
BEYOND Developments returns as the title sponsor for the awards for a second consecutive year, along with several international brands from luxury, travel, banking, and media sectors, enhancing the event’s prestige as one of football’s most celebrated nights.
Additionally, LaLiga will seize this opportunity at the Dubai gala to unveil its awards for the 2024–2025 season, with Raphinha hailed as Best Player, Hansi Flick as Best Coach, Lamine Yamal as Best Emerging Player, Luka Sučić for Best Goal, and Jan Oblak for Best Save. This further elevates the significance of the night as a global tribute to football excellence.
