Vietnam has said yes to SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service for a test run. The government shared this news on Wednesday, saying the test will go on until the end of 2030.
The government also said there is no rule stopping foreign companies from owning this service in Vietnam. Some experts believe this step may help Vietnam keep good trade ties with the United States and avoid extra taxes on goods.

It is still not clear if SpaceX has asked for permission to start its service in Vietnam. But the government has set some limits for the trial period.
Starlink will be allowed to give both home and mobile internet in the whole country. It can also provide internet for people traveling on airplanes. The government said the number of users for the test run should not be more than 600,000.
Starlink is already working in more than 120 countries. It gives internet to places where normal internet service is weak or not available. If this service starts in Vietnam, it may help many people in faraway areas get better internet.
This move by Vietnam shows that the country is open to using new technology while also thinking about its trade with other nations. More updates on this test run may come in the future.
