His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region, attended the opening of the first-ever Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain.

This important event, organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, is taking place at the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain from May 28 to May 31, 2025.

During their visit, the two leaders walked around the exhibition to see the newest ideas in smart farming and vertical farming. They also looked at modern technologies that help improve farming in the UAE. One of the most special parts of their tour was visiting the National Agricultural Museum. This museum shows how farming in the UAE has grown and changed over time, and it shares the country's plan for a sustainable farming future.

They also visited displays from national companies and special farms that use new ideas to solve farming problems caused by the desert climate. This shows how the UAE is working hard to create farming that can handle tough weather and keep growing strong.

The tour included visiting the Farmers' Exhibition, where local farmers showed their fresh produce and beekeepers shared their work. They also visited areas like the Youth Zone, which supports young people interested in farming, and the Agritech Zone, which showed smart farming tools and advanced farming methods.

Other important parts of the visit included the Universities Zone, where students and researchers got ideas about farming, and the Community Zone, which offered fun workshops for visitors. Zones for companies, start-ups, and government groups displayed projects and laws that help farming grow and support farmers.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that hosting this agriculture conference and exhibition in Al Ain is very important. He explained that it shows the UAE’s strong commitment to building a strong national farming system. He said that farming is very important for the country’s sustainable growth and food safety.

He also said supporting Emirati farmers is a big goal. This support will help increase farming in the country, make sure the UAE produces enough food on its own, and help the national economy. He said, "Emirati farmers are important partners in our farming journey, and investing in modern tools for them will keep farming successful for a long time."

His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan said that the conference shows how important farming is in the Al Ain area. He explained that farming is a deep part of the local community’s identity. He stressed the need for the government and private companies to work together to invest in smart farming technologies and increase local food production. This will help make food supply stronger and support the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051.

At the opening ceremony, Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, gave a speech called “Local Produce: A Success Story Savoured Worldwide.” She celebrated Al Ain’s 4,000-year-old farming history and praised the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who started developing modern farming in Al Ain to ensure the UAE has enough food for the future.

Her Excellency said, "Emirati farmers are at the heart of this conference. We are dedicated to supporting them with partnerships, easy access to knowledge, and places to show their products and skills."

She also talked about the main goals of the event, which include showing the country’s farming strengths, empowering Emirati farmers, promoting modern farming technologies, improving farming efficiency, raising the profile of local crops, and encouraging the community to value farming as part of their culture.

The Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition includes 22 government groups that work with farming and food, 40 private companies, four national universities, and 20 new farming start-ups. Over 1,000 students are attending to learn and share knowledge with the participants.

The conference has many events to help transform farming. More than 75 experts will speak in over 20 talks, panel discussions, and presentations, covering many topics about farming in the UAE.

There are also 35 workshops, including 11 special sessions for farmers and 24 for the public. These workshops cover important subjects such as the role of international organizations, laws, youth involvement, innovation, business ideas, and scientific research.

This event also saw the opening of the National Agricultural Museum, which tells the story of farming in the UAE, from old traditional ways to new, smart, and sustainable farming methods.
