The Chicago Bulls won a very exciting game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. The final score was 122-121, but the win came only because Nikola Vucevic made a three-pointer right as the game clock ran out. This amazing shot ended a tough match in which Chicago had almost lost after leading by 21 points earlier in the fourth quarter.
Vucevic scored 27 points in the game, and the last three were the most important. With only a few seconds left, teammate Coby White drove toward the basket. When the Portland defense closed in on him, he passed the ball out to Vucevic, who was standing wide open on the wing. Vucevic took the shot calmly, and the ball went in as time expired. This gave the Bulls their second win in a row.
Chicago played very well for most of the game and held a 98-82 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. With 9:16 left, Ayo Dosunmu made a layup to push the lead to 109-88. But after that, things changed quickly. Portland went on an incredible 32-7 run, which brought the Trail Blazers all the way back into the game.
The Bulls struggled to score while Portland gained confidence on offense and defense. Jerami Grant and Deni Avdija were the main reasons for Portland’s comeback. They kept scoring, attacking the basket, and hitting important shots. The game suddenly became very close again.
Portland completed their comeback when Avdija hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 116-116 with just over a minute left. Then Donovan Clingan scored a three-point play with 47.3 seconds remaining, giving the Trail Blazers a 119-116 lead. Avdija later made one of his two free throws to extend the lead to 120-116.
At this point, it looked like Chicago might lose a game they had controlled for most of the night.
Coby White stepped up in a big moment and hit a clutch three-pointer with 9.1 seconds left, making the score 120-119. Portland’s Jerami Grant then made one of two free throws, giving Portland a 121-119 lead with 8.2 seconds remaining.
This set the stage for the dramatic final play. White pushed the ball inside, saw that Vucevic was alone, and passed it out. Vucevic’s shot went in just before the buzzer sounded, giving Chicago a huge win.
Coby White played an excellent game for the Bulls, scoring 25 points and making seven assists. Isaac Okoro added 13 points, Ayo Dosunmu scored 14 off the bench, and rookie Matas Buzelis contributed 11 points. Josh Giddey did not score much—only nine points—but he helped with 13 assists.
For Portland, Jerami Grant was outstanding with 33 points and nine rebounds. Deni Avdija also had a brilliant night, finishing with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists for a triple-double. Donovan Clingan added 17 points and an impressive 21 rebounds, the most he has ever collected in a game. Toumani Camara also scored 14 points.
Chicago shot the ball well, making 47.9 percent of their shots and hitting 21 three-pointers out of 49 attempts. White and Vucevic each made five threes. Portland struggled more with shooting, making 41.1 percent of their shots and only 12 of 42 three-pointers.
Portland was also missing several key players. Jrue Holiday, Shaedon Sharpe, and Robert Williams III were all out due to injuries.
The game will be remembered for the incredible finish. Chicago nearly lost a big lead, but Vucevic’s calm, last-second shot saved the day. It was a night full of excitement, big performances, and dramatic moments—ending with a Bulls victory that fans will remember for a long time.
