Veteran actor Dharmendra has been discharged from a hospital in Mumbai after being admitted for treatment earlier this week. His son, actor Sunny Deol, issued an official statement on Wednesday morning confirming the news and urging everyone to respect the family’s privacy.
In the statement, Sunny shared that his father’s treatment will continue at home, assuring fans that the veteran star is recovering well.
“Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time,” read the statement issued by Sunny Deol’s team.
Sunny also expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers who had been praying for Dharmendra’s health.
“We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you,” the note added.
Hospital Confirms Dharmendra’s Discharge
A doctor treating Dharmendra confirmed that the actor was discharged around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7.30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to continue his care there,” said the doctor.
Rumours and the Family’s Response
On Tuesday, false rumours about Dharmendra’s death began spreading online, causing concern among fans. His wife, Hema Malini, and daughter Esha Deol quickly addressed the misinformation through social media, clarifying that Dharmendra was alive and responding well to treatment.
Throughout his hospital stay, the Deol family was by his side. Sunny and Bobby Deol, along with Esha Deol, Abhay Deol, and Hema Malini, were frequently spotted visiting him.
Bollywood Stars Visit Dharmendra
Several Bollywood stars visited the veteran actor during his hospital stay. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan — along with Aamir’s girlfriend Gauri Spratt — were seen at the hospital, showing their support and concern for the legendary star.
Sunny Deol’s statement comes after photographers captured multiple visits from family members and colleagues, sparking renewed speculation about Dharmendra’s health. The Deol family has now requested the media and public to avoid unfounded reports and respect their need for privacy as the actor continues to recover at home.
Dharmendra, 88, remains one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars, with a career spanning more than six decades. Fans across the country continue to send their love and wishes for his speedy recovery.
