Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Govinda, recently gave a candid interview, shedding light on the struggles of being married to a superstar. Married since 1987, Sunita has been vocal about the challenges in their relationship, often making headlines for her remarks.
Mistakes and Expectations in Marriage
In her latest interview, Sunita stressed the importance of self-restraint in marriage. “Apne aap ko sambhal ke rakhna chahiye. Jawani mein insaan galti karta hai, maine toh kiya hai, Govinda ne bhi kiya hai… Jab aapko certain age ho jaati hai, tab galtiyan karte ho, toh shobha nahi deta,” she said, emphasizing that repeated mistakes in adulthood can tarnish one’s image, especially when one has a beautiful family.
Life as a Star’s Wife
Sunita opened up about the emotional toll of being married to a Bollywood hero. She explained, “Govinda is a hero… He spends more time with heroines than with his wife. It takes a very strong woman to be the wife of a star. You have to make your heart as hard as stone. It took me 38 years of marriage to realise this.” She added that while Govinda is a good son and brother, he has not been a good husband in her eyes and jokingly mentioned she would not want him as a husband in her next life.
Rumours and Reconciliation
Speculation about the couple’s relationship has been rife since February, with rumours of separation and divorce circulating online. Reports suggested that Sunita had sent a separation notice a few months ago, though no further action followed. Some reports indicated the couple reconciled, and they were seen posing together during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, with Sunita asserting that nothing could come between them.
Family Life
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja married in March 1987, keeping their relationship private until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. They later welcomed their son, Yashvardhan, in 1997. Despite challenges, the couple has maintained a long-standing marriage that continues to capture public attention.
