Abu Dhabi kicked off its first-ever Autonomous Week, a landmark event highlighting the emirate’s leadership in smart and autonomous mobility. The week-long event, running from 10-15 November 2025, brings together international innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the latest in autonomous technologies and intelligent transport solutions.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), alongside His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Together, they inaugurated the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, a platform designed to discuss transformative trends in mobility, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
Throughout the summit, 13 panel discussions featured over 30 speakers, including global experts and innovators, exploring how autonomous systems are shaping the future of transportation. Discussions focused on translating strategic visions into practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive a sustainable, knowledge-based economy.
As part of the week, His Highness toured the DRIFTx exhibition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), which showcased cutting-edge innovations from national and international companies. Live demonstrations included ground-based autonomous systems, drone logistics solutions, and intelligent marine freight technologies, all highlighting the evolving landscape of autonomous transport and supply chain operations.
DRIFTx serves as a strategic platform for investors and innovators to connect, discover emerging opportunities, and witness firsthand the technological breakthroughs defining the smart mobility sector in the UAE and globally.
Abu Dhabi’s Autonomous Week reflects the emirate’s commitment to integrating smart infrastructure, national talent, and advanced technologies, positioning itself as a hub for sustainable and innovative mobility solutions in the years ahead.
