Andhra Student Rajyalakshmi Yarlagadda Dies in US, Family Seeks Support

Texas, US – November 10, 2025: A tragic loss has struck the Andhra Pradesh community as 23-year-old Rajyalakshmi “Raji” Yarlagadda was found dead in her apartment in Texas. Yarlagadda, a recent graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, had been pursuing career opportunities in the United States when she suddenly passed away on November 7.

According to her cousin, Chaitanya YVK, Yarlagadda had been suffering from a severe cough and chest discomfort for two to three days prior to her death. "Tragically, on the morning of Nov 7, 2025, she did not wake up while her alarm rang, leaving her family and friends heartbroken," he said. Friends later discovered her lifeless body in her apartment.

Medical authorities in the US are conducting a thorough examination to determine the exact cause of death. The sudden loss has left her family in Andhra Pradesh and her friends in the US reeling with grief.

Chaitanya has launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe to support the grieving family. The campaign aims to cover funeral expenses, repatriation of Yarlagadda’s body to India, repayment of her educational loans, and to provide financial assistance to her farmer parents in Karmechedu village of Bapatla district.

"Raji came to the US with dreams of helping her parents build a better future through education and hard work," the appeal read. "Her sudden demise has left the family not only heartbroken but facing financial challenges."

Yarlagadda’s passing is mourned by her friends, classmates, and well-wishers, who remember her as a dedicated student with a compassionate heart and a vision for uplifting her family.

Her family has requested prayers and support from the community as they navigate this difficult time.
