President Donald Trump shared news about a big plan where SoftBank, Oracle, and OpenAI will work together to build advanced technology in the United States. This project is called "Stargate" and will spend up to $500 billion in the next four years, starting with $100 billion. The announcement happened at the White House, one day after Trump began his second term as President. Important leaders like Masayoshi Son from SoftBank, Sam Altman from OpenAI, and Larry Ellison from Oracle were there.

The goal of the project is to create large buildings and systems to help with the future of artificial intelligence (AI). SoftBank will handle the money, and OpenAI will manage how everything works. OpenAI shared that this project will not only help make the U.S. stronger in industry but also protect the country and its allies.
The first work for Stargate has started in Texas, and more places in the U.S. are being looked at for future projects. Other big companies like Microsoft, NVIDIA, and MGX, a fund from the UAE, are also helping with this project by providing support and technology.
Trump said this plan is a huge step for the country and shows trust in America’s ability to grow. The leaders of the project thanked him for his support. Larry Ellison shared that the project could also help save lives by finding diseases like cancer earlier with advanced tools.
This news came after Trump removed an earlier rule made by the last President, Joe Biden, which had added checks on AI development. Now, there are no nationwide rules for AI in the U.S., though some states are making their own rules.
SoftBank’s stock price went up more than 8% after this announcement, showing that people are hopeful about the project. Stargate is expected to bring more jobs, new ideas, and make the U.S. a leader in AI technology.
