Dubai’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, recently visited India for the first time on an official trip. During his visit to Mumbai, he met with Jay Shah, the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), as well as some of India’s top cricketers.

Sheikh Hamdan also met with Rohit Sharma, the captain of India’s Test and One Day International (ODI) teams, along with famous players Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.

In the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan talked about how the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is working hard to support and grow sports around the world. He said the UAE wants to build strong partnerships with other countries and become a top place for international sports events. He explained that this goal is part of a big long-term plan and is possible because of the UAE’s modern sports facilities and strong support for global sports.

During his meeting with the Indian cricket stars, Sheikh Hamdan also congratulated them for winning the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The Indian team won the final match in March at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and it was a proud and memorable moment.

The players shared their thoughts and stories about playing in the tournament and other matches held in the UAE. They praised the country for its excellent stadiums, smooth organization, and exciting sports atmosphere.

Sheikh Hamdan said that cricket is becoming more and more popular in the UAE. He also thanked the Emirates Cricket Board and its chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, for their leadership and efforts in growing the sport. Sheikh Hamdan promised that the UAE will continue to support cricket and create an even better environment for sports to grow and succeed.
