On a bright Wednesday morning, the grand hall at University City in Sharjah was filled with pride, applause, and celebration. The special event was the graduation ceremony of two important programmes organized by the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy — the 38th batch of the Police Friends Programme and the 7th batch of the Women’s Police Friends Programme. This significant day marked the end of a meaningful journey for the participating students and the beginning of new responsibilities they would carry forward.
A Respected Guest Graces the Event
The graduation ceremony was held in the presence of Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, who is the Head of the Ruler's Office in Sharjah. His attendance made the day even more special for the graduates. It showed the importance of this programme not just for the students but for the future of the community.

Sheikh Dr Salem’s presence also highlighted how seriously Sharjah values the education and moral upbringing of its youth. By attending the event in person, he gave recognition and encouragement to the efforts of all those involved in this unique police training programme.
A Programme That Builds Character and Responsibility
The Police Friends Programme is not just about learning how the police work. It is designed to instill strong values like discipline, responsibility, courage, honesty, and patriotism in young boys and girls. It teaches them to become better citizens and prepares them to understand the importance of law and order in society. The programme also helps them grow as individuals with leadership skills and a sense of cooperation.
A special visual presentation was shown during the event. It reflected how the programme has influenced the graduates positively. The presentation featured moments from the students’ training and learning sessions, showing their growth from curious beginners to confident individuals.
A Parade and A Heartfelt Speech
One of the most exciting parts of the ceremony was a military parade performed by the graduates. The audience, which included proud parents and high-ranking officials, watched with admiration as the students marched in perfect coordination. The parade demonstrated how well they had learned discipline and teamwork — two qualities that are highly valued in police training.
Following the parade, a group of students gave a heartfelt speech. They spoke about how the programme had helped them become more responsible and how they had learned the true meaning of cooperation and discipline. The graduates sincerely thanked their teachers, trainers, and the academy for guiding them throughout the programme. They said the programme taught them how to be brave, honest, and patriotic — values that would stay with them for life.
Recognising Contributions and Support
After the speeches and performances, Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi took time to honour various entities and institutions that played an important role in the success of the Police Friends Programme. These organisations were recognised for their support, cooperation, and contributions that helped the programme reach its goals.
The event ended with Sheikh Dr Salem posing for a commemorative photo with the graduating students. This photo symbolized the unity and strong bond between the leaders of the country and its younger generation.
Attendees Who Graced the Occasion
Several important figures and officials attended the event to show their support. Among them was:
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Deputy Chairman of the Academy Council. His presence showed the value the Sharjah Police gives to community-based learning and training.
Major General Ghanem Khamis Al Houli, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Amiri Guard, also attended. His presence added more prestige to the occasion.
Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director of the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy, played an important role in organizing the programme and supporting the students throughout.
Other senior officers from the Sharjah Police and the Academy were present, along with proud parents of the graduating students who came to witness this proud moment.
A Step Towards a Safer and Better Society
The Police Friends Programme, especially in its 38th and 7th batches, continues to shape young minds into future leaders who understand the importance of law, order, and community values. The inclusion of a separate batch for young women shows that the academy believes in equal opportunities and empowering all sections of society.
Programmes like these are not only about training for police-related tasks. They are about building a future generation that respects rules, works for the safety of others, and lives with honesty and responsibility. These young boys and girls may not all become police officers, but they will certainly become better citizens, ready to serve their country in different ways.
Encouraging the Youth to Dream Big
This event also sends out a clear message to students across the UAE — that their dreams are valued, and their efforts are supported. When leaders like Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi take time to attend such events, it reminds young people that they are an important part of the nation’s future.
By recognizing their achievements and guiding them with care and wisdom, the country is preparing its next generation to carry the flag of justice, honesty, and progress.
The graduation ceremony of the Police Friends Programme was more than just a formal event. It was a celebration of learning, values, teamwork, and patriotism. It brought together students, parents, teachers, police officers, and leaders, all united with a common goal — to build a better, safer, and stronger Sharjah and UAE.
The lessons these students have learned will go far beyond the academy. Whether in school, at home, or in their communities, they will now carry with them the spirit of service, courage, and responsibility.
As the curtains closed on the event and the graduates walked out with their heads held high, they carried with them not just certificates and memories, but a powerful sense of purpose that will guide them for years to come.
