A Big Step for a Respected Engineer
In this official announcement, Engineer Ali Sultan bin Butti Al Muhairi, who has already been working as the Director of the Survey Department, was promoted. Now, he will take on a bigger responsibility. He has been chosen to become the new Director of the Department of Town Planning and Survey.
This promotion means that Eng. Ali Al Muhairi will now oversee both urban planning and land survey operations in Sharjah. These are very important areas, especially in a growing city like Sharjah, where planning for the future is a top priority.
What Is the Department of Town Planning and Survey?
The Department of Town Planning and Survey is one of the most important departments in Sharjah. It is responsible for how the land is used, where new buildings can be constructed, how roads are planned, and how the city can grow in a safe and smart way.
This department makes sure Sharjah becomes a better place for people to live, work, study, and travel. They help make maps, plan roads, design areas for houses and shops, and take care of land information.
So, the person who leads this department needs to be very experienced, smart, and dedicated to public service. That’s why Eng. Ali Al Muhairi’s promotion is such a big deal.
Who Is Engineer Ali Sultan bin Butti Al Muhairi?
Engineer Ali Al Muhairi is a well-known and respected figure in Sharjah’s government. He has spent many years serving in different roles and has gained a lot of experience, especially in land and survey departments.
Before this promotion, he worked as the Director of the Survey Department, which is a part of the same department he will now lead. This means he already understands the team, the projects, and the goals. His promotion shows that his hard work, skills, and leadership have been appreciated and recognized by the government.
By moving him to the higher role of Director of the entire Department of Town Planning and Survey, the government is showing their trust and confidence in his ability to handle more responsibilities and lead important development projects.
Promotion to “Department Director” Rank
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi didn’t just appoint Eng. Ali Al Muhairi to the new role—he also confirmed that the new position comes with a special rank.
Eng. Al Muhairi will now serve with the rank of “Department Director” under the Sharjah Government Special Jobs System.
What does that mean?
It means that he is not just a department head in name. His position is now officially recognized under Sharjah’s government job system. This special rank brings higher responsibilities, greater authority, and more decision-making power.
Why This Promotion Matters
This appointment matters for several reasons:
Leadership Strengthening: It helps make the department stronger by putting an experienced and capable person in charge.
Sharjah’s Growth: As the city continues to grow and modernize, the role of urban planning becomes more important than ever.
Continuity and Experience: Since Eng. Al Muhairi already worked in the department, he can continue the work smoothly without needing time to adjust.
