His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, welcomed the young people taking part in the Gulf Bridges Program. The event happened on Wednesday morning at the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre in University City, Sharjah. This program is being held under the care of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, who is the Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators. It is organized by Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, both of which are part of Rubu’ Qarn.
His Highness greeted the young participants from Gulf countries with warmth and kindness. He said, “We are very happy to welcome you to the UAE, to Sharjah, and to this special center. This place is full of knowledge and books about the history of the Gulf, and these can help anyone who wants to learn and grow.”
He talked about the rich history of the Gulf region. He explained how the people of the Gulf worked together peacefully and shared their resources. He said the region’s wealth started with natural pearls, which were very valuable in trade. Later, when pearl trading became less important, the discovery of oil brought new opportunities and development to the region. His Highness said this history teaches an important lesson: Gulf countries should always stay united, work together, and teach young people to value cooperation and strength.

His Highness also said it is very important for Gulf countries to remain connected and support each other. This unity makes their societies stronger and helps protect them from outside influences that might harm their connection to their traditions and values. He told the young participants, “By coming to Sharjah today, you are helping to build a strong future. You must focus on learning, gaining confidence, and helping each other to solve problems. When difficulties come, everyone should work together to fix them and keep peace and stability.”
He shared some advice with the young audience. He encouraged them to read more, gain knowledge, and learn about the history of their region. He said this will help them become confident, strong, and clear-thinking individuals who can help their communities. His Highness wished them success in all their upcoming meetings and activities.
During the event, Khalid bin Ali Al Sunaidi, who is the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), gave a speech. He thanked His Highness for supporting the youth of the Gulf. He also praised Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher for her efforts in helping young people and creating spaces where they can learn, share ideas, and grow. Khalid Al Sunaidi said the Gulf countries understand how important young people are for building a bright future. He said programs like the Gulf Bridges Program are very helpful in bringing youth together, letting them share ideas, and allowing them to take part in important decisions.
As a way of saying thank you, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi received special shields of honor from Khalid Al Sunaidi and representatives from the participating Gulf countries. A group photo was taken with His Highness and the participants to remember this special day.
The Gulf Bridges Program began on December 22 in Sharjah and will continue until December 27. The program includes fun and interesting activities, workshops, and events for 40 young men and women from Gulf countries. These activities are designed to help the youth improve their leadership skills, become more creative, and work together to achieve success and make the Gulf region stronger.
