Sharjah Ruler Increases Pension for Retirees Receiving Percentage

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has approved a new decision to increase the retirement pension for retirees in the Emirate of Sharjah who are receiving a percentage of their pension. The new pension will be set at a minimum of 17,500 dirhams. This decision aims to ensure that retirees and their families can live a decent life.

Starting from December 1, 2024, this new pension policy will be applied annually, with an extra financial cost of 1,300 dirhams each year. The difference in pension amounts will be paid as a supplement to make sure the pension reaches the minimum amount. This supplement will be given to all retirees who are affected by this change, and they will receive the difference in their pension payments retroactively from the date they retire. The total cost for this new pension adjustment will be around 4 million dirhams.

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, the Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, shared this important announcement in a telephone interview on the "Direct Line" program, which is broadcast by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
