Private companies in the UAE are speaking out about the good results they’ve seen after hiring Emirati employees. As the next deadline for the Emiratisation rule approaches, many businesses say having local talent has helped their teams grow stronger and work better.

The Emiratisation programme is a government plan that asks private businesses to hire more UAE nationals. The goal is to give Emiratis more chances to build their careers in different fields outside government jobs. It also helps balance the workforce and supports the country’s long-term development.

What Is the New Deadline?
The UAE government has asked companies with at least 50 employees to make sure that at least 2% of their staff are Emirati nationals by June 30, 2025. If businesses don’t meet this target, they may face fines.

So far, many firms say they are not only meeting the goal—they are going beyond it because they see real benefits in hiring locals.

Companies Share Their Experience
One example is Bright Capital, a finance firm in Abu Dhabi. The company hired several Emirati workers over the last year. A senior manager there said that these new team members brought fresh ideas, strong dedication, and a deep understanding of local culture, which helped the company connect better with clients.

Another business, Al Masaood Group, said that young Emiratis are eager to learn and grow. They added that giving them training and support helps build a loyal and talented workforce.

Managers from these firms also shared that hiring local staff makes it easier to understand the local market and improve customer service, especially in places like banking, retail, and sales.

Support from the Government
To help companies, the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has offered different types of support. This includes financial help, training programs, and even tools to help businesses find the right local talent.

The government has made it clear that Emiratisation is not just a rule—it’s a way to grow the country’s economy with the help of its people. They want to make sure that UAE citizens have a strong presence in the private job market.

Positive Response from Employers
Many business owners say the process has been smooth. They say that Emiratis bring valuable skills and a strong desire to succeed. Some even said that Emirati employees often take on leadership roles faster because they are motivated and understand the country’s needs well.

Others noted that customers often feel more comfortable dealing with staff who understand local customs and language. This improves business and builds trust.
