Sharjah Ruler Launches Raad Al Kurdi Quran Recitation

Sharjah, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, launched the complete recitation of the Holy Quran by famous reciter Raad Al Kurdi at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah.

During the ceremony, His Highness also honoured Raad Al Kurdi for completing the full recitation in the narration of Hafs from Asim, and reciter Mahmoud Sweidan, who presented three different narrations of the Quran.

The Ruler praised their hard work and said that such projects help Muslims everywhere to learn, read, and memorize the Holy Quran with ease. He explained that the recordings will serve as a trusted reference for students, scholars, and memorisers.

He also said that these efforts show Sharjah’s leading role as a center for the Holy Quran and its sciences. The Holy Quran Academy continues to support many projects including printed copies, digital versions, and modern apps that help Muslims across the world.

The Ruler thanked the two reciters for their beautiful voices and accurate recitation, calling this work “a valuable gift” to the global Quranic library. He encouraged students and researchers to benefit from it and keep spreading the words of the Quran in a way that reflects Islam’s true message of peace and guidance.

In recent months, the Holy Quran Academy has also achieved great success. It has approved around 2,000 complete recitations received by students of the Sharjah International eMaqraa program, under the guidance of expert reciters. Today, more than 1,000 students from 172 countries are learning through this platform, making Sharjah a global hub for Quranic learning.

This achievement is another step in showing how Sharjah is not only a cultural capital but also a beacon of Quranic knowledge for the world.
