Abu Dhabi Customs records strong digital growth in 2025

Abu Dhabi Customs has announced impressive progress in 2025, showing how fast the emirate is moving towards smarter and faster trade services.

From January to August this year, the number of customs transactions done through digital platforms grew by 10.08% compared to the same time last year. This means more traders and companies are now choosing online services instead of paperwork.

One of the biggest achievements is the rise of proactive transactions, which grew by almost 29%. These are services that are ready in advance, making the process quicker and easier for businesses. At the same time, customs declarations—the main papers for moving goods—went up by 18%.

Another highlight is that 82% of all clearance procedures were finished even before goods reached Abu Dhabi, thanks to the pre-arrival clearance system. This has saved time for both importers and exporters.

Abu Dhabi Customs also scored high in customer happiness. Through the government’s TAMM digital services platform, it achieved 95.94% satisfaction, up from 94.17% last year.

Speaking about these results, His Excellency Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, said that these numbers prove the department’s strong push towards full digital transformation. He stressed that this supports Abu Dhabi’s vision of building a modern, knowledge-based economy that attracts global trade and investment.

To make things smoother, Abu Dhabi Customs has added new online services such as Clearance of Goods, Customs Exit/Entry Certificates, and easy options to modify or cancel declarations. New digital payment methods have also been launched, making processes faster and safer.

Between January and August 2025, completed transactions through express shipping systems jumped by 19.72%, while customer effort dropped by almost 11%.

With these steps, Abu Dhabi Customs is not only making trade easier but also helping strengthen the emirate’s position as a global business hub.
