As part of the Government Services Design and Development Project, the General Secretariat of the Sharjah Executive Council organized a series of brainstorming sessions over three weeks. These sessions focused on the "Plan Approval and Building Permit" workshop. This effort is part of a bigger plan to improve important government services in different departments. This project follows the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council. He wants to bring big improvements to government services. The aim is to understand what people need, improve customer satisfaction, build trust, and improve the quality of life in Sharjah.

The workshop took place at the Sharjah Municipality headquarters. It focused on creating better ways to approve plans and issue building permits. Many important officials attended the event, including:

  • H.E. Engineer Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Housing Department

  • H.E. Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs

  • H.E. Engineer Hamad Jumaa Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Planning and Survey Department

  • H.E. Asma Rashid bin Taliah, Secretary-General of the Executive Council

  • Sheikh Saud Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department

  • H.E. Obaid Saeed Al Tuniji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality

Senior officials and representatives from different government departments also joined the workshop.

The brainstorming sessions included managers, specialists, and experts from various departments, along with private engineering consultants. They worked together to find new technology and management solutions to improve services. Their main focus was to make plan approvals and building permits faster and more accurate.

The Sharjah Executive Council Secretariat is continuing to hold more workshops to design and improve government services in different areas, including the economy and society. These workshops follow a well-organized and planned approach to make government services smoother and improve customer experience. The government is committed to ongoing improvements, ensuring that innovation and customer needs stay at the center of its services.
