The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has agreed to give an extra $35 million to help build the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Specialized Hospital in Zambia. This means the total money SFD is giving for the hospital is now $135 million. The deal was signed by Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, the CEO of SFD, and Situmbeko Musokotwane, Zambia’s Minister of Finance. The ceremony was also attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Zambia, Ali Al-Qahtani.

The hospital will have 800 beds and focus on helping women and children with medical care. The building will cover more than 200,000 square meters. This hospital will make healthcare better in Zambia, train doctors and nurses, and make treatment cheaper for people in the country.
After the agreement was signed, Al-Marshad, Musokotwane, and Ambassador Al-Qahtani visited the hospital’s construction site to see how the work was going. The hospital is part of Saudi Arabia’s help to improve Zambia’s healthcare system.
Since 1978, the SFD has given Zambia over $170 million to support important projects in healthcare, education, and other areas. This help is aimed at improving the lives of people in Zambia and helping the country grow.
