Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is working on a new project to make travel easier for people in four neighborhoods. This project will improve roads around areas like Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Hessa Street. The goal is to help over 400,000 people living in Nadd Hessa, Al Awir 1, Al Barsha South, and Wadi Al Safa 3. With these upgrades, it will be easier and faster for people to get in and out of their areas.

Making Roads Better for People

Mattar Al Tayer, the head of RTA, said that this project is part of a plan to improve roads and services in Dubai. The aim is to make the roads safer and more convenient, with better lighting and drainage to handle more traffic. The new roads will help people get to the main roads quickly and easily.

Nadd Hessa

In Nadd Hessa, new roads will connect the area to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. These roads will have two lanes, and 6,000 cars will be able to pass every hour. This will help people in Nadd Hessa, Warsan 4, Hessa Gardens, and Dubai Silicon Oasis, which have over 300,000 people.

There will also be new roundabouts and traffic lights to make travel faster. The new changes will cut travel time by 80%, reducing the time from 138 seconds to just 37 seconds.

Al Awir 1

A new 7.5 km road will connect Al Awir 1 to Emirates Road, making it easier for the 50,000 people in Al Awir 1 to travel. This road will allow 3,000 cars to pass every hour, double the number it could handle before.

Al Barsha South

In Al Barsha South, a third left-turn lane will be added at the intersection of Hessa Street and Al Barsha South. This will make it easier for cars to turn left. Hessa Street will also be made wider with two more lanes, allowing more cars to travel. This will increase the traffic capacity from 6,000 cars to 9,000 cars every hour. With these changes, people will spend less time waiting at traffic lights, cutting wait times from four minutes to just one minute.

Wadi Al Safa 3

In Wadi Al Safa 3, new entry and exit points will be added from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. This will make it easier for people coming from Dubai-Al Ain Road to get to their neighborhoods. There will also be 4 km of new roads, which will save time and reduce the travel distance by 10 km. Travel time will be cut from 10 minutes to just 2 minutes.

Al Warqa

In Al Warqa, a new entry and exit point will be built from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. This will help people travel in and out of the area more easily. The internal roads will be expanded by 8 km to handle more cars. This will allow 5,000 more cars to pass every hour and cut travel time by 80%. Travel distances will also be reduced from 5.7 km to just 1.5 km, saving people a lot of time.

The roads in Al Warqa will also be improved by changing roundabouts to traffic lights to help manage the flow of cars. These changes will allow more cars to pass through and make travel smoother. RTA is also building more roads in Al Warqa 3 and Al Warqa 4, and a 16 km cycling track will soon be built to connect with other bike paths.
