This makes Qatar Airways the first airline to offer direct flights from the Middle East to Colombia. It is also the only airline from the Middle East flying to Venezuela.
The flight will go from Doha’s Hamad International Airport to Bogotá, then continue to Caracas. The return flight will fly directly from Caracas to Doha without stopping.
With these new flights, Qatar Airways is expanding its network to 16 cities in South America. Some of the big cities already served by the airline include Dallas, Miami, New York, São Paulo, and Toronto.
The flights will be on a Boeing 777-200LR plane, which has 42 Business Class seats and 234 Economy Class seats. These planes are built to make long flights comfortable for passengers.
Qatar Airways’ CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said that these new flights are a great step for the airline and for South America. He explained that this will bring people, businesses, and cultures closer together. He also mentioned that passengers can enjoy the airline’s top-notch service.
Qatar Airways has won the title of World’s Best Airline eight times in a row, according to Skytrax in 2024. With these new routes, Qatar Airways hopes to provide even better travel connections, comfort, and service to passengers in South America.
These new flights will make it easier for people in Bogotá and Caracas to connect to places all over the world through Qatar Airways' large network, which includes more than 170 destinations.
