SS Rajamouli’s upcoming pan-India film Varanasi has created huge excitement after the release of its teaser. Soon after the launch, the film’s lead actors—Priyanka Chopra, Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran—began promoting the movie with international media. Priyanka recently shared new photos from the promotional tour, which quickly caught attention online.
In the pictures, Priyanka is seen taking a cheerful selfie with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj. Another photo shows the three of them posing together. Priyanka wore a stylish black sheer shirt with a matching skirt during the event. She said that working with two respected stars from the Telugu and Malayalam film industries in a Rajamouli film feels like a big honour for her.
Priyanka also shared that promoting the film almost a year before its release has been very exciting. She added that the positive reaction from international media has boosted the team's confidence, and they hope the film meets audience expectations.
At the teaser launch in Hyderabad, Priyanka mentioned that although Prithviraj looks frightening as the villain in the film, he is the complete opposite in real life—kind and humble. She also thanked Mahesh Babu and her family for helping her explore Hyderabad and taking good care of her during the shoot.
Varanasi features Mahesh Babu as Rudhra, Priyanka as Mandakini, and Prithviraj as Kumbha. The teaser does not reveal the full story, but many fans believe the film involves time travel. Rajamouli also revealed that Mahesh Babu appears as Lord Rama in one special sequence, which he described as one of the most memorable scenes he has ever created.
Varanasi is scheduled to release in theatres during Sankranthi 2027.
