Six individuals suspected of involvement in human trafficking were apprehended by the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Rawalpindi on Friday, as reported by ARY News. The crackdown comes amidst a heightened focus on combating visa fraud and trafficking activities.
The suspects, identified as Manwar Butt, Tahir Muzammil, Zeeshan Sadiq, Abdullah, Liaqat Hussain, and Mohammad Rizwan, were captured during a series of raids conducted in various localities of Mundi Bahauddin and Rawalpindi, according to the FIA spokesperson.
Allegations against the arrested individuals include extorting significant sums of money from citizens under false pretenses of securing employment opportunities overseas. Tahir Muzammil, for instance, is accused of fraudulently obtaining PKR 260,000 from a citizen by promising employment in Qatar. Similarly, Munawar Butt is alleged to have defrauded individuals of PKR 6.6 million by falsely offering job placements. Multiple cases have been registered against him.

Zeeshan Sadiq and Abdullah are also facing charges related to deceiving individuals by claiming to arrange employment in Malaysia and Dubai, respectively. Zeeshan Sadiq reportedly took PKR 664,000 from several individuals under false promises, while Abdullah is accused of swindling PKR 260,000.
The FIA's efforts aim to bring the perpetrators of such fraudulent activities to justice and protect the rights of the victims. However, this recent crackdown underscores the persistent challenge of visa fraud and human trafficking in Pakistan. With ongoing economic hardships and a deteriorating law and order situation, such incidents have unfortunately become increasingly common, placing a heavy burden on the citizens and authorities alike.
