Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Approves New Policies to Improve Healthcare, Education, and Family Welfare in Dubai

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has approved a set of new policies to make life better for the people of Dubai. These changes aim to improve healthcare, education, family services, and smart buildings. The goal is to make Dubai a better place for everyone, focusing on people and their well-being.

The meeting was held at Emirates Towers, and was attended by other leaders, including Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

In the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Dubai’s development plans are centered around the people. He explained that the policies approved today will help individuals, families, and society as a whole. These changes are part of Dubai’s long-term plan to create a sustainable and inclusive future. As Dubai works toward its goals in the Dubai Plan, it will focus on real, people-centered results.

Sheikh Hamdan explained that these new policies are part of Dubai’s broad approach to improving different areas, including healthcare, education, social services, and smart technology. Some of the key policies that were approved include a plan to improve healthcare, better educational opportunities for Emirati students, stronger family welfare services, and a new approach to smart buildings.

Improving Healthcare

The Dubai Health Authority has a new plan to make healthcare better in Dubai. By 2033, the plan includes building three new hospitals and 33 primary healthcare centers, along with special medical centers for certain health needs. The new hospitals and healthcare centers will be built in newly developed residential areas like Al Yalayis, Al Awir, and Lehbab. The healthcare system will be improved through partnerships with private companies, and there will be packages to encourage both local and international investment in healthcare.

This plan will also improve mental health care and rehabilitation services, make insurance coverage better, and attract talented doctors to work in Dubai. There will be more scholarships for Emirati students who want to study medicine.

Helping Emirati Students

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has created a new policy to help Emirati students in private schools. The goal is to make sure that all Emirati students attend schools that are rated "Good" or better. The policy also wants parents to be happy with the schools, aiming for a satisfaction rate of over 90%.

The policy includes plans for school improvement programs, flexible learning options, and the Dubai Distinguished Students Program (DDSP), which will help students excel. It also aims to increase the number of Emirati teachers and improve school curriculums. The goal is to prepare Emirati students to become future leaders.

Supporting Families

Dubai is opening a new Unified Centre for Family Care, which will provide all kinds of services for families. The centre will offer counseling, help with child protection, manage custody issues, and give advice on social matters. This service will be available through a single platform, with two branches in Deira and Bur Dubai, and will be supported by digital tools. The centre is designed to strengthen families, which are seen as the foundation of a strong society.

Smart Buildings in Dubai

Dubai is also introducing a new Smart Buildings Policy, led by Dubai Municipality, to make buildings more efficient and eco-friendly. These buildings will use renewable energy, smart water systems, intelligent parking, climate control, and real-time monitoring. The goal is to reduce energy use in buildings by 25%, reduce water use by 15%, and lower operational costs by 20%. This will not only save money but also improve the quality of life for people living in these buildings.

The new policy supports Dubai’s efforts to reduce its energy use and help the UAE meet its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2050. The policy also aims to encourage investment in Dubai’s real estate sector. While the policy is voluntary for now, it will be promoted to developers and investors to encourage them to adopt these smart building standards.

In summary, Dubai is taking important steps to improve the lives of its residents by focusing on healthcare, education, family welfare, and sustainable buildings. These changes will help make Dubai a more inclusive, efficient, and people-friendly city for everyone.
