The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced that it will expand its office in San Francisco to help grow Abu Dhabi’s business sectors around the world. This office will focus on promoting Abu Dhabi’s healthcare industry and other key sectors by speeding up clinical tests and regulatory processes. This will help bring new innovations in healthcare and make it easier for companies in other industries to expand globally.
Abu Dhabi’s new Health, Endurance, Longevity, and Medicine (HELM) cluster, launched in April 2025, is a big part of this effort. This cluster is a project between the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. It is expected to add US$25.6 billion to Abu Dhabi's economy, create 30,000 new jobs, and attract US$11.5 billion in investments by 2045.

The HELM cluster will focus on global growth opportunities in healthcare, which is predicted to be worth US$25.3 trillion by 2045. It will use Abu Dhabi’s strengths in genomics (studying genes), population health, AI (artificial intelligence) in healthcare, and quick regulations to become a leader in health innovation. The ADIO office in San Francisco will help US-based healthcare startups and growing companies join other big US healthcare companies, like Insilico Medicine and Innovaccer, in expanding to Abu Dhabi.
This announcement was made during a visit to San Francisco by a high-level group from Abu Dhabi, led by H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, the Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi. The visit was aimed at strengthening relationships with key decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and organizations in the health technology sector.
H.E. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED, said: “ADIO’s office in San Francisco isn’t just a place to be. It’s a platform where businesses can match with investors, enter new markets, and grow for the long term. By growing our office in San Francisco, we’re opening doors to Abu Dhabi’s business world and building connections for capital, innovation, and progress across many sectors.”
H.E. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori also said: “The future of healthcare needs to be created together. The expansion of ADIO’s office in San Francisco will give health innovators and entrepreneurs the chance to build, test, and grow solutions with Abu Dhabi for the world. Abu Dhabi offers a space where global health ideas can grow and have a real impact, supported by flexible rules, investment, and resources.”
The HELM cluster, announced during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week 2025, is an opportunity for health and life sciences companies to access important capital and partners in Abu Dhabi. Companies can use Abu Dhabi’s advanced systems for clinical trials and quick approvals, work with research centers and healthcare providers in the UAE, and expand both in the US and the Middle East. They will also get special support and advice to grow their businesses worldwide.
