Operation Sindoor, India's robust military initiative against Pakistan-supported terrorism, was a focal point during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path, celebrating the nation’s 77th Republic Day.
The Tri-Services tableau, themed “Victory Through Jointness,” showcased the exceptional coordination and combined might of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. This display illustrated India's progressive military doctrine prioritizing integrated tactics, rapid action, and cutting-edge technology in contemporary warfare.
The tableau vividly depicted vital aspects of Operation Sindoor. It spotlighted the Indian Air Force's precision strikes on terrorist targets, the Navy's strategic positioning ensuring maritime dominance, and ground operations by the Indian Army that effectively mitigated threats.
The operation commenced in the early hours of May 7, with Indian forces executing coordinated attacks on terror camps entrenched deep within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This mission responded decisively to the tragic terrorist assault in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of over two dozen tourists last year.
In the aftermath, a four-day military standoff ensued, with Pakistan launching missile and aerial assaults on Indian cities. However, India’s advanced air defense systems successfully intercepted these threats, ensuring civilian safety and protecting infrastructure.
On May 10, the operation was suspended following a request for a ceasefire from Pakistani military leaders, who cited increasing losses and the challenges in continuing the conflict.
The Republic Day tableau not only celebrated the accomplishments of Operation Sindoor but also highlighted the evolution of the Indian Defence Forces into a future-ready, agile force poised to swiftly tackle emerging security challenges.
