Nikki Glaser, the standup comedian known for her roast of Tom Brady last year, took on a new role as the host for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday night. The event, filled with Hollywood stars, gave Glaser the perfect stage to make jokes about current trends, celebrities, and the entertainment world.

As soon as Nikki started her opening monologue, she joked about being in a room full of movie producers at the Beverly Hilton. “I’ve got to say, this feels like I finally made it. You know, I’m in a room full of producers at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and this time all of my clothes are on,” she said, giving the audience a laugh.

Nikki didn’t hold back on poking fun at several big names in Hollywood. She made light of the industry's obsession with Ozempic, a weight-loss drug that’s been getting a lot of attention lately. She also took jabs at some high-profile films and celebrities, including Ariana Grande’s Wicked movie, which many people were eagerly waiting for. Nikki humorously pointed out that the production wasn’t as great as people had hoped.

She also made a joke about the much-anticipated movie Joker 2, starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, which didn’t do as well as expected. Glaser humorously mentioned how some people were disappointed by the film, adding to the fun of the night.

Nikki didn’t stop there—she turned her attention to famous figures like Diddy. With a wink, she said to Zendaya, “You were incredible in Dune, oh my God. I woke up for all of your scenes!” Glaser also joked about the movie Challengers, saying it was “more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card!” The comedian didn’t shy away from calling out other celebrities either, mixing humor and satire to entertain the star-studded crowd.

Her jokes continued as she teased about the Golden Globes after-party. Nikki said, “I’m sorry, I’m upset too. The after-party isn’t going to be as good this year, but we have to move on. ‘Stanley Tucci freak-off’ doesn’t have the same ring to it.” She also joked, “No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil,” referring to past celebrity party traditions.

While Nikki’s jokes got laughs from some, they also had mixed reactions on social media. Some people found her jokes hilarious, while others didn’t think they were funny at all. Regardless, Nikki Glaser’s opening monologue set the tone for a night filled with laughter and surprises at the Golden Globes.
