The final preparations for the Abu Dhabi International Shotgun Championship have been officially completed. The major sporting event will take place from December 1 to 4, 2025, at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. This championship is one of the most awaited events in the region and will feature some of the world’s best shooters competing for valuable prizes. The organisers confirmed that everything is ready to host athletes from around the globe in a professional and well-organised environment.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region. The event is organised in cooperation with the UAE Shooting Federation and the International Federation of Sport Shooting and Hunting. During a press meet on November 23, the Higher Organising Committee shared full details about the preparations, progress, and expectations for the championship.
The Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee thanked the national leadership for continuously supporting sports and athletes in the UAE. He highlighted the strong backing received from senior leaders, which has helped make this championship an important international event. He noted that such support reflects the country’s commitment to promoting sports and building a global reputation in competitive shooting.
Officials confirmed that the total prize money for the upcoming event is $400,000, which is over AED 1.5 million. This amount will be distributed among the winners across different categories. More than 300 shooters from over 30 countries are participating, making it one of the most competitive editions to date. Around 30 shooters from the UAE will also take part, showcasing the country’s growing sporting talent.
This year, women’s participation has reached around 10%. This marks an encouraging increase in female involvement in shooting sports. The organisers said the high registration numbers show the rising popularity of the event and the trust of international athletes in the UAE’s ability to host large-scale competitions.
The organising committee thanked all strategic partners, including national sports bodies, local authorities, and supporting organisations. Their combined efforts helped ensure smooth coordination in planning, logistics, and security. Officials emphasised that such strong cooperation contributes to creating an event that reflects the UAE’s high organisational standards.
The organisers pointed out that the championship coincides with the 54th Eid Al Etihad celebrations. They highlighted that shooting is deeply connected to Emirati heritage, culture, and history. The event not only supports sports but also celebrates traditional values linked to hunting and defence—important aspects of national identity.
The hosting of the event in Al Ain shows the city’s growing status as a regional hub for sports and tourism. Officials said the championship strengthens the UAE’s international reputation and reflects the confidence global federations have in the country’s advanced infrastructure and management capabilities.
The final day of the championship will include a special event called the “Abu Dhabi Silver Awards.” The total prize pool for this segment will exceed AED 100,000, adding more excitement and encouraging greater competitiveness among participants.
The tournament director said that the venue has been busy for weeks as all teams work on final touches to ensure readiness. Shooters will begin arriving on November 25. Official training sessions are scheduled from November 27 to 30. The competition will officially start on December 1 after the draw is completed.
With over 300 shooters, major prize money, and strong global interest, the Abu Dhabi International Shotgun Championship promises to be a major sporting highlight. It represents the UAE’s dedication to hosting top-level international events and providing world-class facilities for athletes.
