Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana had to abruptly postpone her wedding ceremony on Sunday after her father experienced sudden chest pain that appeared similar to heart attack symptoms. The medical emergency created panic at the wedding venue, and an ambulance was immediately sent to assist him. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. Because of this situation, all wedding celebrations were stopped. Smriti chose not to continue the ceremony without her father present, as his health was her first priority.

Shortly after this incident, another unexpected health issue occurred. Smriti’s fiancé, Palash Muchhal, also had to be taken to a hospital after feeling unwell. According to sources, he was dealing with a viral infection and high acidity. Fortunately, his condition was not serious. After receiving the necessary treatment, he was discharged and returned to the hotel, which brought some relief to both families.

Father’s Health Condition Under Close Monitoring

Smriti Mandhana’s family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah, shared details about her father’s condition. He explained that around 1:30 pm, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana complained of pain on the left side of his chest, a symptom known as angina. When the symptoms began, his son immediately contacted the doctor. A medical team responded quickly, and an ambulance transported him to the hospital.

Initial tests, including ECG and other medical evaluations, showed elevated cardiac enzymes. This indicates that the heart was under stress and required close observation. His blood pressure was also high, so doctors are currently focused on bringing it down. Dr. Shah added that if the condition does not improve as expected, they may have to perform an angiography to examine the heart more closely.

Doctors are monitoring him throughout the day, and if his progress remains steady, there is hope that he may be discharged soon. Smriti and her entire family are in constant touch with the medical team and are staying close to him during this critical time.

Before this sudden medical emergency, a week-long celebration had been taking place in Sangli, Smriti Mandhana’s hometown in Maharashtra. The wedding had been eagerly awaited by family, friends, and fans. Many rituals were already completed, and the main ceremony was planned for Sunday. However, with Mr. Mandhana’s unexpected health issue, the family decided to pause all remaining events.

The wedding date has now been postponed indefinitely. The new schedule will depend completely on how quickly Smriti’s father recovers. The families want him to be fully stable before resuming any celebrations. Smriti has made it clear that she will not continue with the wedding until her father is healthy and able to attend.

A Difficult Time for the Family

This situation has been extremely stressful for Smriti Mandhana and both families. What was supposed to be a joyful and memorable week suddenly turned into a moment of anxiety and concern. However, both Smriti and Palash have remained calm and focused on their families’ well-being. The families also expressed gratitude that Palash’s condition was not serious and that he is recovering well.

The cricket community and fans across the country have been sending prayers and wishing for the quick recovery of Smriti’s father. Many people admire her decision to put family first during such an important moment in her life.

For now, the health and recovery of her father will determine when the wedding celebrations can resume. Until then, all plans remain on hold.
