Week 14 brought a dramatic shake-up across the NFL, delivering decisive wins, costly mistakes and major reshuffling in multiple division races. From Pittsburgh’s revived push to Green Bay’s climb back to the top, Sunday’s action tightened playoff battles across the league.
Aaron Rodgers produced his strongest performance of the season as the Pittsburgh Steelers edged Baltimore 27-22 on the road, silencing — at least for now — the growing calls for head coach Mike Tomlin’s exit. All week, former team greats Ben Roethlisberger and James Harrison had publicly questioned the direction of the franchise, but the Steelers responded with their most complete effort of the year. With the win, Pittsburgh (7-6) moved one game ahead of the Ravens (6-7) in a division that could ultimately be decided when the two teams meet again in Week 18.
Rodgers, who turned 42 last week, finished with 284 passing yards, one interception, no sacks allowed and his first rushing touchdown in three years. Pittsburgh now returns home to host Miami, while Baltimore looks to regroup in Cincinnati.
The Green Bay Packers also reshaped the NFC North race with a 28-21 victory over Chicago. Jordan Love shook off an early interception and delivered three touchdown passes while Keisean Nixon sealed the game with an end-zone interception of Caleb Williams. The win pushed Green Bay (9-3-1) slightly ahead of the Bears (9-4), setting up a heated rematch in Chicago in Week 16. With Detroit (8-5) still lurking, the division remains tightly packed as the season hits its final stretch.
Green Bay faces a tough road challenge next against Denver (11-2), while Chicago tries to recover against the struggling Cleveland Browns.
In Jacksonville, the Jaguars took firm control of the AFC South with a decisive 36-19 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Trevor Lawrence delivered a clean, efficient outing as Jacksonville (9-4) continued to build momentum under first-year coach Liam Coen. The win came as a major blow to the Colts (8-5), who also lost quarterback Daniel Jones to an Achilles injury. With rookie Riley Leonard now stepping in, Indianapolis has dropped four of its last five after a 7-1 start and has slipped outside the AFC playoff positions. A difficult final stretch — including games against Seattle, San Francisco and Houston — threatens to push them further down the standings.
The biggest stumble of the week came in Kansas City, where the Chiefs’ offense collapsed late in a 20-10 loss to the surging Houston Texans. Kansas City’s defense had been dominant throughout the second half, but a puzzling fourth-and-1 decision from their own 31-yard line opened the door for Houston. Patrick Mahomes’ pass fell incomplete, giving the Texans immediate scoring position and a chance they quickly converted.
Kansas City’s final two drives ended with dropped passes, including one that bounced off Travis Kelce’s hands and turned into a game-sealing interception for Azeez Al-Shaair. Now 6-7, the Chiefs’ streak of nine consecutive AFC West titles is over, and their postseason hopes require perfection the rest of the way.
Houston, meanwhile, continues one of the season’s most dramatic turnarounds. C.J. Stroud guided his team to its fifth straight win, pushing the Texans (8-5) closer to a potential division title despite beginning the year 0-3.
With three weeks remaining, the playoff picture is tightening across every conference — and Week 14 has ensured the final stretch will be even more unpredictable.
