Etihad Airways has officially commenced direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Madinah this week, marking a significant expansion of its operations in Saudi Arabia. The new service caters to religious travelers, business professionals, and leisure tourists, offering seamless connectivity to one of the Kingdom’s most spiritually significant cities.
The addition of Madinah brings Etihad’s weekly flights to Saudi Arabia to 93, spanning five major destinations. The airline continues to operate four daily services to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, alongside three weekly flights to Al Qassim. The Madinah route is a key component of Etihad’s ambitious network growth strategy, which has seen the airline announce 31 new destinations within a year.
Abu Dhabi now serves as a vital hub for travelers heading to Saudi Arabia, providing convenient connections and the opportunity to experience a complimentary Abu Dhabi Stopover. Guests connecting to Madinah can enjoy two free nights at top hotels and explore the UAE capital’s iconic attractions, from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to cultural sites on Saadiyat and Yas Islands, as well as world-class entertainment and leisure experiences.
The airline’s strategic expansion underscores Abu Dhabi’s growing status as a global aviation hub. Travelers flying from Madinah can also easily connect to Etihad’s extensive international network, spanning Asia, Europe, and Australia, enhancing the city’s accessibility for global pilgrims and tourists alike.
With this launch, Etihad reinforces its commitment to providing flexible, reliable, and comfortable travel options while fostering stronger connections between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
