The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, in collaboration with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi, has officially launched the Community Responder application on major app stores. This initiative marks a key milestone under the second phase of the “Our Community is Ready” campaign.
The launch represents a significant step in activating a structured volunteer system aimed at strengthening community preparedness and enhancing the efficiency of emergency response operations. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to safeguard lives and protect property across the emirate.
The application is a major outcome of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation and Volunteering, developed through strategic partnerships with key entities, including the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an and the Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme. It also reflects ongoing collaboration with the “We Are All Police” initiative, highlighting unified government efforts to build a sustainable and well-coordinated volunteer ecosystem.
Designed as a smart digital platform, the Community Responder app enables volunteers to receive certified training, equipping them with the skills needed to effectively assist during emergencies. This contributes to faster response times, improved coordination with authorities, and greater efficiency in managing incidents.
Officials emphasized that the initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s proactive vision to empower residents and promote a culture of prevention and shared responsibility. Authorities have encouraged community members to register on the platform and actively contribute to strengthening safety and security across the emirate.
The move reinforces the importance of volunteerism as a core value within Abu Dhabi’s community framework, supporting a resilient and well-prepared society.
