Dubai has introduced a fresh set of economic measures aimed at strengthening business resilience and sustaining growth across key sectors, particularly hospitality and tourism. The initiative, announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, reflects the emirate’s proactive approach to supporting businesses during evolving market conditions.

The newly announced steps are part of a broader AED1 billion economic stimulus package aligned with the vision of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The package focuses on easing financial pressures, improving liquidity, and enabling businesses to maintain steady growth.

A key highlight of the measures is targeted support for the hospitality sector. Hotels and related establishments have been granted a three-month deferral on 100% of sales-related fees, including charges on rooms, food and beverages, as well as the Tourism Dirham. Effective from April 1, 2026, the relief applies to hotels, hotel apartments, and holiday homes, offering immediate financial flexibility.

Beyond hospitality, the government has extended fee deferrals across the wider business ecosystem. These include postponements on premium business name fees, licence amendment charges, newspaper announcement costs, local service fees, accommodation fees, waste management charges, and service improvement fees. The relief applies to both new business licences and renewals, providing comprehensive support for enterprises of all sizes.

Officials from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism emphasized that the initiative reflects Dubai’s agile economic model, built on collaboration between the public and private sectors. The measures are designed not only to address short-term challenges but also to reinforce long-term economic stability.

Industry leaders have welcomed the move, noting that the incentives are aligned with feedback from stakeholders across the tourism sector. Authorities highlighted that ongoing engagement with businesses has played a crucial role in shaping policies that encourage growth while maintaining Dubai’s global competitiveness.

Additional reforms under the package include extended customs data grace periods and streamlined processes for issuing and renewing residency permits, further enhancing the ease of doing business in the emirate.

With these strategic steps, Dubai continues to position itself as a resilient and business-friendly global hub, ensuring sustained momentum across its economy despite evolving global challenges.
