Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC (DEWA), listed on the Dubai Financial Market (ISIN: AED001801011), announced that its shareholders approved a total dividend of AED 3.1 billion for the second half of 2025. The decision was taken during the General Assembly held on 2 April 2026, both in-person at Kempinski The Boulevard Hotel and virtually, with 91.53% shareholder participation.
General Assembly Overview
The meeting was chaired by HE Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, DEWA’s Chairman, and attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, along with Board members. The approved cash dividend of 6.2 fils per share is scheduled for disbursement in April 2026, with a record date of Monday, 13 April 2026.
Financial Highlights & Performance
DEWA reported consolidated annual revenue of AED 32.84 billion, a 6.02% increase from 2024, fueled by rising demand for electricity, water, and cooling services. Net profit after tax rose by 25.17% to AED 9.06 billion, reflecting strong operational efficiency and strategic investments.
Electricity peak demand increased 5.8% to 11,391 MW, while water peak demand rose 7% to 487 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD). DEWA added nearly 57,000 new electricity and water accounts, bringing the total customer base to over 1.3 million.
Sustainability & Green Energy Goals
DEWA continues to drive Dubai’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, originally targeting 5,000 MW, is now planned to reach 8,000 MW by 2030. Currently, 21.5% of DEWA’s 17,979 MW installed capacity comes from clean energy, expected to rise to 36% by 2030, preventing over 8.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
Strategic Investments & Digital Leadership
DEWA invested AED 11.8 billion in 2025 to expand renewable energy generation and transmission networks, supported by public-private partnerships attracting global developers. Line losses remain exceptionally low at 2% for electricity and 4.4% for water, with customer minutes lost averaging 0.82 minutes/year.
DEWA has also embraced digitalisation and AI, ranking first globally in 13 utility performance metrics. These initiatives enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service quality.
Leadership Remarks
HE Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi praised Dubai’s strategic vision under His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for positioning the emirate as a global hub for finance, trade, and sustainable development.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s commitment to excellence, long-term growth, and sustainable energy, highlighting the group’s achievements in financial performance, operational efficiency, and renewable energy expansion.
