The National Academy for Childhood Development (NACD) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Family Care Authority (FCA) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at attracting qualified graduates from NACD’s programs. This agreement was formalized during a ceremony held at the Social Care Forum, organized by the Department of Community Development, which saw the leadership teams from both organizations in attendance.
Under the terms of the MoU, the FCA has committed to prioritizing the hiring of 40 graduates annually from NACD’s accredited Vocational Diploma in Childhood Development program. Additionally, the FCA will offer internship opportunities for students within the authority and provide the necessary support across all programs offered by the Academy. NACD will select candidates based on the needs outlined by the FCA and will monitor their performance throughout the internship period.
The MoU also includes plans for organizing workshops on shared themes, inviting FCA employees to contribute their expertise through various events, lectures, and activities hosted by the Academy.

H.E. Salama Al Ameemi, Director General of the Family Care Authority, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "Our collaboration with the National Academy for Childhood Development reflects our ambitious strategic vision to create a paradigm shift in the quality of life for families in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Through this partnership, we aim to shape a promising future for the childcare system by preparing an exceptional generation of specialized professionals capable of delivering the highest levels of care and support. This agreement not only bridges the gap between education and employment in this vital sector but also establishes an integrated and sustainable family care system that effectively responds to the needs of our growing and diverse community in Abu Dhabi."
Dr. Meera Saeed Alkaabi, Chief of the Academy Team, echoed this sentiment, stating, "In line with our shared vision to advance the childhood development sector in Abu Dhabi, we are pleased to collaborate with the FCA to enhance the skills of caregivers. This partnership not only prepares them for future roles but also addresses current gaps in the sector, enhancing synergies and outcomes, ultimately positioning Abu Dhabi as a leader in family care and quality of life."
The National Academy for Childhood Development offers an 18-month accredited Vocational Diploma in Childhood Development, providing full scholarships to all enrolled students. In addition to this diploma, NACD offers a variety of short courses designed to meet the needs of full-time caregivers, further supporting the professional development of those in the childcare field.
