Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, has expressed her firm belief that her father-in-law, former President Donald Trump, was chosen by divine intervention to lead the United States during a critical time. During an interview with PragerU CEO Marissa Streit, Lara shared her thoughts on the role faith played in Donald Trump’s presidency. “I don't think there's any doubt that God had a hand in this,” she said. “If you ask my father-in-law, he will tell you that he’s here because God wanted him to be here. He believes his mission is to do what’s right to save America and, in doing so, save the world.”
Lara went on to emphasize Trump’s unwavering determination and resilience in the face of challenges. She remarked, “I think it’s because of one man—Donald Trump. He never gave up, he never stopped fighting for this country. I’ll give the credit to both God and Donald Trump. Together, they achieved what many thought was impossible.”
Addressing common criticisms of Donald Trump, Lara defended his motivations, rejecting claims that his actions were driven by personal glory. “So many people accuse Donald Trump of being a narcissist, saying the only reason he ran for president and continues to fight is for his own fame and recognition. But a narcissist wouldn’t have endured the kind of challenges, attacks, and scrutiny he’s faced. A narcissist wouldn’t have put himself through hell and back to serve others,” she asserted.
Lara also praised Trump’s courage, particularly in the face of potential threats. When asked about the dangers he might face, including assassination attempts, she highlighted his fearlessness. “He’s not afraid of any of it,” she said. “He’s a remarkable human being.” This sentiment echoes Donald Trump’s own words from election night, when he addressed his supporters, saying, “Many people have told me that God spared my life for a reason—to save our country and restore America to greatness.”
In concluding the interview, Lara reaffirmed her faith in Donald Trump’s purpose and the belief that he is being guided by a higher power. “You have to believe that God has him here for a purpose and that He will continue to look out for him,” she said.

Interestingly, during a recent press conference, Donald Trump dismissed rumors that he was pressuring Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to consider Lara Trump for a Senate seat. When questioned about whether DeSantis might select Lara to replace Senator Marco Rubio, should Rubio be confirmed as Secretary of State, Trump responded, “No, I don’t think so. That’s Ron’s decision, and it has nothing to do with me. Ron’s doing a good job.” By distancing himself from these speculations, Trump underscored his trust in DeSantis’s judgment and maintained focus on his larger mission.
Lara Trump’s reflections offer a window into her family’s reliance on faith and their belief in a higher purpose guiding their actions, particularly during a transformative time in American history.
