Co-host Charlamagne tha God burst into laughter during a recent episode when Lara Trump, the RNC co-chair and daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, claimed she had never heard her father-in-law say anything racist. The segment aired on Monday and addressed various allegations against the former president.
When prompted by the hosts about claims of racism, including the lawsuits stemming from his treatment of the Central Park Five and his past refusal to rent to Black tenants, Lara Trump defended her father-in-law. "That's ridiculous. I've known this man for sixteen years. There was never any proof of anything with the houses; they settled that. There was no admission of anything there," she asserted.

Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, found her statement amusing and could barely contain his laughter. He remarked, “Donald Trump was really beneficial to the Black community when he was in the White House. I will say I've never seen this man say a racist thing.” He added, “That's hysterical,” quipping that it seems people act as if television, radio, or even Google don’t exist when discussing Trump's controversial comments.
In a follow-up, Lara Trump challenged Charlamagne to list any specific racist remarks made by Trump, insisting that he is widely loved by many Americans and has friendships across diverse communities. She attempted to downplay the negative narratives surrounding her father-in-law, claiming that the GOP presidential candidate is adored by many.
The discussion then shifted to criticism of Trump’s rhetoric against immigrants. In response to Charlamagne’s comments about this issue, Lara asserted that her father-in-law is simply against illegal immigration and not against immigrants as a whole.
The conversation concluded with a shift in focus to Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. While Charlamagne admitted, “I don't think he's garbage,” he noted that he doesn't see a significant impact from Walz in the current political landscape.
