In a significant move to enhance its tourism sector, Kyrgyzstan has announced a new head for the State Agency for Tourism Development during an event in Bishkek. This appointment is part of a broader initiative to revitalize the country's tourism offerings.
Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev made the official announcement, introducing Eduard Kubatov as the new agency director. He expressed strong confidence in Kubatov’s capabilities to advance the industry.
The Prime Minister underscored the integral role of tourism in Kyrgyzstan’s socio-economic landscape, pointing out the immense potential that remains untapped. He assured that the government is committed to fostering tourism growth.
During the meeting, officials highlighted promising statistics from the sector, including tourism service exports surpassing $1 billion by 2025, with nearly 129,000 active entities contributing to the industry’s ongoing expansion.
Key priorities for the agency involve enhancing tourism legislation, optimizing service delivery via digital platforms, and ensuring that tourists enjoy safe and pleasant travel experiences throughout the nation.
Kasymaliev expressed his hope that Kubatov will drive the swift implementation of strategic projects, boost operational efficiency, and support sustainable development within tourism. He also highlighted the necessity of integrating modern technologies to align with international standards.
The meeting culminated with the Prime Minister wishing Kubatov success in achieving critical goals to elevate Kyrgyzstan’s tourism presence both regionally and globally.
