The inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing International Cup wrapped up in Kuwait on Sunday evening after four days of high-energy action, enthusiastic crowds and an impressive global turnout. Held from 4 to 7 December 2025, the championship made a striking entry on the international falconry calendar as the first event of its kind, attracting top falconers and wide media attention.
Hosted at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, the closing ceremony marked the finale of a tournament that drew 200 professional falconers and 270 falcons from around the world. Audiences packed the venue throughout the competition, while international broadcasts carried the excitement of the heritage sport to viewers across multiple countries.
Across seven Farkh races, along with Hur and Shaheen categories featuring falcons bred in specialised farms, the championship delivered a diverse and tightly contested schedule. The highlight remained the Cup Race, which closed the tournament with strong performances and roaring support from the stands.
Officials from both the UAE and Kuwait noted the strong public response, with the large turnout reflecting the deep cultural connection the Gulf region shares with falconry. The event also underscored the close cooperation between the two nations, as Kuwaiti organisations worked alongside UAE entities to deliver a smooth and well-coordinated first edition.
Throughout the four days, the atmosphere remained charged with excitement as seasoned falconers demonstrated precision, speed and skill—qualities that define the sport’s long-standing heritage. Many participants welcomed the introduction of an international platform that brings global falcon racing talent together, signalling growing interest in the sport beyond regional borders.
Organisers credited the success to extensive preparation and support from both countries, noting that the strong participation and flawless execution have set the foundation for future editions. With interest already rising, the championship is expected to expand to additional member states of the International Federation of Falconry Sports and Racing in coming years, strengthening the sport’s global reach.
By the end of the evening, as final acknowledgements were made to supporting entities including Kuwait’s Public Authority for Sport, the Amiri Diwan, the UAE Embassy in Kuwait, and the visiting UAE delegation, the tone was clear: the first Emirates Falcon Racing International Cup had not only made history but also opened the door to a broader, more connected future for the world of falcon racing.
