Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma are being criticized for picking Harshit Rana in the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide. India lost the match by 10 wickets, and many fans and experts were unhappy with the team’s performance. Harshit Rana, a young bowler, did not take any wickets in the match, and this has made people question why he was chosen to play. Some believe Harshit was picked because of his connection to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the IPL team where both he and Gambhir have ties.
This decision has brought attention to both head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma, with many questioning their judgment. Amid this criticism, former India captain Kapil Dev was asked for his opinion. Kapil gave a simple answer, saying it is not his place to judge the decisions made by the team’s management.

“I am a nobody. How can I judge? There are people responsible for deciding who should be on the team,” Kapil said. He was speaking at the Vishwa Samudra Open golf event held at the Delhi Golf Club. Kapil added that he trusts the team management to make the best decisions and do their job well. “We shouldn’t talk. My former colleagues are there, and I believe they will do a good job,” he said, showing confidence in the team leaders.
India’s Next Challenge in the Series
The Test series is now tied at 1-1, and India faces a tough task in the third Test at Brisbane. The Gabba, where the next match will be played, is known for its bouncy pitches, which are difficult for batters to handle. Australia’s fast bowlers are very strong on such pitches, and this will be a big test for India’s players. The team needs to work together and perform at its best to win this match and take the lead in the series.
India also needs to win the remaining matches in the series to have a chance of reaching the ICC World Test Championship final. Currently, India is in third place on the points table, behind South Africa and Australia. To qualify for the final, India must secure as many wins as possible in the remaining games.
The team is under a lot of pressure, and fans are hoping for a strong comeback after the disappointing loss in Adelaide. The next few matches are very important, not just for this series but also for India’s position in the World Test Championship. All eyes are now on the team as they prepare to face the challenges ahead and try to turn the series in their favor.
