The International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 officially started today in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event is being held at the ADNEC Centre and will run until February 21. It is organized by the ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council.

This year’s event marks the 17th edition of IDEX and the 8th edition of NAVDEX. The exhibitions are bringing together top global companies and experts in the defense industry to showcase the latest technologies and solutions. The focus is on improving international peace and security through advancements in defense.

The 2025 edition has seen significant growth. There are now 1,565 companies participating from 65 countries, which is a 16% increase compared to the last edition. This year, the exhibition welcomes seven new countries: Qatar, Ethiopia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Cyprus. A new exhibition hall, Hall 14, has also been added to accommodate 341 new companies.

In response to global defense needs, this edition introduces a dedicated CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) platform. This platform will highlight the latest products and technologies aimed at addressing these specific threats, with 38 companies from 13 countries participating.

More than 3,300 products and technologies will be on display at IDEX and NAVDEX, showing how important these events are in supporting the defense industry. They also play a key role in boosting the competitiveness of UAE-based companies both regionally and internationally. Additionally, more than 156 start-up companies will be showcasing their innovative solutions, making up 10% of the total exhibitors.

This year’s IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions are set to be a significant milestone in the defense industry, with increased participation and new innovations aimed at advancing security and defense technologies worldwide.
