Hamdan bin Zayed Chairs Abu Dhabi University Board Meeting

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in Al Dhafra and the head of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, led a meeting with the university’s board members. Sheikh Hamdan explained that since the UAE was created, education has been very important in the country’s growth. He remembered the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, who believed education could unite the people and make the country stronger. Sheikh Zayed made education a top priority for the country.

Sheikh Hamdan said education has been the key to building a strong and skilled workforce in the UAE. It has helped create many Emirati workers who are good at their jobs. Sheikh Hamdan thanked the leaders of the UAE, like President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for their strong support of education. Dr. Harmal also shared the university’s recent successes. For example, Abu Dhabi University moved up 60 places in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and is now ranked 191st in the world. The university is also the best in the UAE for teaching and helping students find jobs. It is ranked second in the Gulf and third in the Arab world for these achievements.

Professor Ghassan Aouad, the Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, said the university will continue to keep its high standards. He also said the university is ranked as one of the best small universities in the world and one of the best universities under 50 years old.
