His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched a new digital platform called ‘MyDubai Communities’. This platform is designed for everyone in Dubai—citizens, residents, and visitors—to discover and take part in a wide range of community groups and activities across the city.
‘MyDubai Communities’ builds on the success of the #MyDubai initiative that Sheikh Hamdan started in 2014. That campaign encouraged people to share their daily lives in Dubai on social media, helping to create a digital story of the city. It showed the world what makes Dubai unique—its people, lifestyle, and culture. Now, this new platform takes that idea further by connecting people through shared interests.

The platform gives users access to about 100 different interest-based communities. These include sports, arts, wellness, hobbies, professional groups, and more. People can join reading clubs, cycling groups, art workshops, women-only spaces, and even networking events for working professionals. If someone doesn’t find a group that matches their interest, they can even create their own in under five minutes.
This community-focused platform is part of Dubai’s larger plans for the future. It supports the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aim to make Dubai one of the best places in the world to live. Sheikh Hamdan explained that Dubai’s progress is not just about impressive buildings and roads—it’s also about how connected and happy its people are. He believes that strong community bonds are key to a successful city.
The platform is simple to use and can be accessed online at www.mydubaicommunities.com or through Instagram and TikTok under @mydubaicommunities. It welcomes everyone in Dubai, regardless of age, background, or nationality. With nearly 200 nationalities living in Dubai, the platform helps bring people together, promotes creativity, and makes the city feel more like home for everyone.
The launch of ‘MyDubai Communities’ comes at a special time, as the UAE celebrates 2025 as the Year of Community. This year focuses on building closer connections among people, encouraging shared experiences, and creating spaces where everyone feels included.
Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, said that this platform reflects the leadership’s goal of making people feel welcome, involved, and part of a larger mission. He said that ‘MyDubai Communities’ is a major step in strengthening Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading cities for living, working, and visiting.
This new initiative invites everyone to take part, share their passions, meet new people, and enjoy the many experiences Dubai has to offer. It’s a fresh and exciting way to feel more connected to the city and one another.
